How to Calculate Flooring

Multiply room length by width to get the square footage. Add a waste factor (10% for most installations, 15% for diagonal tile patterns). For tile, budget about 1 bag of thinset per 60 sqft and 1 bag of grout per 100 sqft. For hardwood and LVP, add flooring underlayment.
