How to Calculate Insulation
Measure the total area to insulate (wall height x wall length, or ceiling area). Choose the R-value based on your wall depth: R-13 for 2x4 walls, R-19 for 2x6 walls, R-30 or higher for attic ceilings. Each bag of batt insulation covers about 40 sqft.
